Module summary

Students undertake a research project where they normally spend the months of July and August based with their external host. This provides research experience in a professional environment and from this students produce a 5000 word research dissertation for their assessment plus give a 15 minute talk (+ 5 minutes for questions) on their Placement work. In addition to performing their research project students are encouraged to gain as much work experience as they can from their host organisation within the time constraints imposed by their research but they must do this in their own time and under their own insurance as only their research project will be assessed and hence covered the University of York Insurance.

You are responsible for setting up your own placement but Julie Hawkins will help you with this.
