Dr Harsh Mander is a human rights and peace activist, writer, columnist, researcher and teacher.

He is the Chairperson of the Centre for Equity Studies in Delhi, devoted to the analysis and development of public policy and law for justice and rights of disadvantaged groups. He has been a vocal critic of communal violence and discrimination, often highlighting the plight of marginalised communities. He leads a national initiative called Karwan e Mohabbat, or Caravan of Love. The Karwan visits the families of those who have lost loved ones to hate violence and lynching, for atonement, solidarity, healing and justice. He has written more than 25 books including Partitions of the Heart: Unmaking the Idea of India.
