Work abroad
Find out more about working abroad as part of your undergraduate degree.
Can I do a work placement abroad as part of my undergraduate degree programme?
Yes, this may be possible through a Year in Industry route (via your Department) or the Placement Year programme (through Careers and Placements).
Where can I work abroad?
Almost anywhere - be aware that it’s not possible to work abroad as part of your degree in a country where the UK’s Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office advice is against travel.
You’ll need to find a suitable placement provider that’s acceptable for your Department / Careers and Placements.
Having appropriate insurance in the event of an accident in the workplace is a consideration as part of the placement approval process so asking what insurance a company has may be one of the initial questions you ask the placement provider. For more information about insurance when on a work placement as part of your degree programme, take a look at the insurance information for work placements on the things to consider webpage.
