Global Opportunities for History students

Year Abroad Exchange Destinations

Denmark: Aarhus University (Study in English)

France: Aix-Marseille University (B1 French required), University of Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne (B2 French required), University of Tours (B2 French required)

Germany: University of Konstanz (B2 German required for credit replacing study.  For additional year study, B2 German is preferred.  Additional year study in English may be possible, but courses in English are more limited and prospective students are advised to consult the international officer for History), University of Gottingen (B1 German required)

Italy: University of Parma (A2 Italian required, limited modules in English), Roma Tre University (B1 Italian required)

Japan: Waseda University, Ritsumeikan University

Netherlands: Utrecht University (Study in English, please note that this exchange is not available to History/Politics joint honours students), Maastricht University (Study in English, please note that this exchange is only open to students as an additional year abroad)

Spain: Complutense University of Madrid (B1 Spanish required)

Sweden: Lund University (Study in English)

USA: Beloit College, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign (UIUC)

Undergraduate History students may also apply to study abroad at one of York’s University-wide partners, which are open to students from most other departments at the University.

As part of your internal application for an additional year abroad, you may be able to include ISEP Exchange as a destination. Start your ISEP research by looking at the ISEP Program Finder and applying the ISEP Exchange filter for your field of study.
