Study Exchange Funding
Thinking of studying abroad?
There are a number of scholarship and funding options for you to consider.
Find out more about the different options here.
Tuition fee or maintenance loan
You can continue to apply for a tuition fee or maintenance loan and must tell your student finance provider that you'll be studying or working abroad. Be aware that for work placements abroad your maintenance loan entitlement may be reduced by your Student Finance Provider. You must contact your Student Finance provider directly to discuss your individual circumstances and if you need any support in communicating with Student Finance, you should contact the advisors in the Student Hub at the University of York
For students entitled to a reduced tuition fee to the University of York (more details on tuition fees for the year abroad on the Finance and Funding webpage in the tuition fees section), you will find that the tuition fee element of your loan is reduced accordingly by your student finance provider.
Expenses funding
You may be eligible to receive funding from your student finance provider towards expenses including travel to your overseas destination, visas and insurance. Please check your provider's web pages for full information.
