This decision has been made by TIER who operate the service for the City of York Council, and is not a decision made by the University.
We understand that many of our staff and students will be disappointed by this news as University journeys (to, from, across) make up a large percentage of total trips taken across the city.
City of York Council is looking for an alternative service provider but there will likely be some time when there will be no e-scooter / e-bike provision across the city and University.
We would encourage everyone where possible to continue to travel sustainably, such as cycling, walking or using the First York bus services and free Campus Zone travel.
Free bus travel between the campuses
The C1 and C2 bus routes will continue to operate a dedicated free of charge campus shuttle. Bus routes 66 and 67 also incorporate intercampus travel in their route within the Campus Zone. Simply remember to tap on and off on these routes.
