Checking in with you

Posted on 6 December 2024

You may receive a phone call or email to support you if we have noticed you're not checking in.

We hope teaching has gone well so far over Semester 1. However, we know that sometimes things don’t always go as planned and can impact your studies.

From the week commencing 16 December 2024 and the week beginning 6 January 2025, you may receive a phone call or email from our specialist support staff if we have noticed that you have lower engagement in your teaching sessions than expected.

These calls are designed to have a conversation with you to see if there is anything the University can help you with. This may include help and support internally or externally from the University.

As we approach the winter break and the upcoming assessment and examination period, we want you to be supported throughout your time at York. These phone calls and emails are to help us identify any concerns you may have about your studies and enable us to signpost you to relevant support.

The wellbeing support phone calls are from +44 (0)1904 809578.

We use the feedback you give us, which is anonymised, to highlight areas where we can better communicate student support, as well as develop our wellbeing programmes.
