Opening times are different outside of term time. See catering opening times over the vacation.
Helpdesk times
The University Facilities Helpdesk will be closed from 4pm on Friday 23 December 2022, reopening at 9am Tuesday 3 January 2023.
But don’t worry, any emergency faults can be reported at any point during the closure period via our non-emergency telephone line +44 (0) 1904 32 4444 or for more urgent concerns +44 (0) 1904 323333.
Cleaning - Student residential areas
Normal cleaning services will be provided up to 2pm on Friday 23 December. There will be no cleaning services in residential areas from Saturday 24 December until Tuesday 27 December inclusive and from Saturday 1 January to Monday 3rd January inclusive. Emergency cover will be provided on these dates. From Wednesday 28 December to Friday 30 December, again there will be emergency cover provided. Normal cleaning services will resume on Tuesday 3rd January. Everywhere should be supplied with a stock of waste bin liners and toilet rolls where applicable. Extra stock can be requested at the advertised open Receptions throughout the Christmas period.
Travel
Remember, there will be limited services on public transport on certain days across the winter break. Please check the First bus app or website for up to date timetables.
Reception services
Reception services across campus will be limited from Friday 23 December through to Tuesday 27 December 2022 inclusive, and Saturday 31 December 2022 and Sunday 1 January 2023 inclusive. The Ron Cooke Hub (for Campus East) and Information Centre (Campus West) will be open 24 hours a day across these dates; however most other college receptions will be closed.

Christmas posting
If you're sending letters or parcels to family or friends over the Christmas Break, please be aware that Royal Mail are engaging in national strike action over December which means any items posted with them will be subject to delay.
As the strikes are taking place up until 24 December, customers are advised to post their mail earlier than usual to arrive for 25 December. Students are welcome to use the University Mailrooms up until 23 December.
