The York Science Conference (YSC) is the first student-run science-based conference in Europe. This academic year, we are hosting two Discovery Series Events and a Conference.
Discovery Series
Our first Discovery Series event is a Student Speaker Event in which undergraduate and postgraduate students from STEM departments present any research they have recently undertaken. Students can apply to be a student speaker here. The application deadline is 5pm on 14 October 2021.
This event will take place on Monday 25 October 2021 via the online platform Airmeet. A link to the Airmeet event will be posted on our socials closer to the time.
Our second Discovery Series event will be themed around Cryptocurrency and take place on Thursday 25 November 2021. This event will be hosted on campus, with an exact location posted to our socials closer to the time.
Conference
Our main event, the conference, will take place on Thursday 10 February 2022 on campus, with an exact location to be posted on our socials closer to the time. The conference is run by motivated undergraduate students who are part of several departments at the University of York. This one-day event is themed around Medical Technology and offers students from all academic disciplines the opportunity to participate in keynote speeches, panel debates, seminars, and networking opportunities.
Sessions will be hosted by distinguished speakers who are experts in their respective fields and eager to share their wealth of knowledge. Join us as we analyse the facts and trends that define the new competitive arena across the STEM industries and use this knowledge to impress employers with your commercial awareness.
