In early 2020, through our annual Travel and Transport Survey, you told us that there weren't enough cycle parking areas across campus. We also learned that, year on year, an increasing number of you are using bicycles to get to and from campus.
In response to this, we have now installed a 'cycle parking hub' outside the Information Centre on Campus West. The hub, which provides space for up to 80 cycles, is well lit, monitored by CCTV and also introduces some vibrant colour to the area. The cycle racks were manufactured locally and are fully secure; however we can move the bays if we need to in the future.
The University of York has a long standing sustainable transport plan and we are always looking at ways to encourage and facilitate active travel among students. Read more about our sustainable travel.
