With his latest film, acclaimed documentarian Mark Cousins moves into fiction with an intriguing film, perhaps best described as a city symphony.
Starring actor, singer, and songwriter, Neneh Cherry, the film follows the story of Alva Achebe (Cherry), a Swedish architect fascinated by the way buildings influence lives. On the anniversary of a tragic event in her past she is unable to face the day ahead, and so tries to get lost in the historic city of Stockholm.
Join Mark for this early screening and to discuss the film with him in this joint event between the Department of Theatre, Film and Television, the Department of Sociology and the School of Social and Political Sciences.
This is a great opportunity to meet with a film critic turned director and watch the film for free before its commercial release across cinemas this June.
Time: Wednesday 1 June, 6.00pm
Location: TFTV/116, Theatre, Film and Television Building (Campus East)
Open to: staff, students and members of the public
