Also, if you complete our Freshers’ or York Experience Survey you will be in with a chance to win a £50 voucher.
We will be running our two student surveys from Monday 13 November 2017 to Tuesday 2 January 2018.
First year undergraduate students will receive an invitation to complete our York Freshers’ Survey.
The purpose of the survey is to understand how you manage the transition to university, how you develop your skills and knowledge to be successful in their studies and your overall experience at York. Students’ experiences of the first few months of university can vary greatly, depending on their background, expectations and existing skills.
The results of this survey will be used to ensure that we support our students by equipping them with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.
All undergraduates in their middle study years, all 2nd year students and those 3rd year students on a four-year programme, will receive an invitation to complete our York Experience Survey (YES).
YES focuses on how satisfied and engaged you are with your degree programmes and the wider developmental opportunities available at the University. It includes some of the questions from the Freshers’ survey.
Final year students: please note that you will be invited to complete the National Student Survey (NSS) in 2018.
Both the Freshers’ Survey and YES are internal University of York surveys.
All eligible undergraduates should receive an email with the appropriate survey link on Monday 13 November. If you can’t find your email, copy and paste the following text into the search box of your University Gmail account: “from: student-surveys@york.ac.uk”.
Complete the survey by midnight on Tuesday 12 December to be entered into a prize draw to receive one of five £50 vouchers. The winners can choose from one of the following vouchers: Waitrose, Love2Shop or Amazon.
Your feedback is essential to help us understand what you value and how we can improve.
You will receive email reminders about the survey until you either complete it or opt out.
Your survey answers will be linked to the data held in your student record. Any data that might be used to identify you will be removed so that staff viewing the responses cannot link you as an individual to your survey response or your demographic data.
Linking your answers to your student record enables us to:
