You may not be able to take your bicycle with you if you leave York over the summer, but if you want to leave it on campus, make sure we know.
Every year many cycles are abandoned taking up space needed by staff and new students arriving in October. To prevent this the University runs a recycle project, collecting unwanted bikes and helping them find a new home.
To identify abandoned bikes, the Transport Team and Reception Staff will be tagging all cycles throughout July 2017. The team will tag every bike, as they cannot differentiate between those that are used daily and those that have been abandoned. If you find that your bike has been tagged, simply removed the tag and your bike will not be collected.
We apologise for any inconvenience.
If you are going away you can book to store your bike using the Cycle summer storage application form. Find out more.
