York GeekFest 2016

York GeekFest is a student led event showing off York's diverse geeky culture. There is an extensive range of events and activities featuring many local artists, stores and groups for you to explore new things or rekindle old hobbies.
Events include:
- Quidditch workshop
- Gamesmaster, Dungeonmaster & Storyteller event
- Evil Cyborg Sea Monsters Comedy Show
- The Psychology of Doctor Who
- Free movie marathon
- How to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse
- Create Your Comic workshop
- Fly a MicroDrone session
- Video game area
The event was first held last year, with over 500 people attending. This year promises to be bigger and better featuring comedians, local video game creators and much more.
Geekfest York takes place on Saturday 15 - Sunday 16 October in the Exhibition Centre. Tickets are just £3 in advance or £5 on the door.
