Module design

A module is defined as a self-contained, formally structured unit of study, with a coherent and explicit set of aims, learning outcomes and assessment.

Effective module design aims to align activities, content and assessments to guide students towards the intended learning outcomes.

This will normally also contribute towards the development and assessment of Programme Learning Outcomes and be aligned with the stage of the programme in which the module takes place.
