As part of the University’s commitment to this area of work, the Decolonising and Diversifying the Curriculum Project was launched in 2020 and is coordinated by a working group made up of academic and professional services staff, as well as student representatives.
The Inclusive Learning team also works closely with a range of academic departments in the creation of internal initiatives, activities and projects that reflect the diversifying and decolonising the curriculum agenda.
The University's Statement of Approach to Decolonising and Diversifying the Curriculum has been co-constructed by the Working Group, in collaboration with Inclusive Learning @ York student interns following a series of staff and student discussion events. It outlines principles and understandings of decolonising and diversifying the curriculum, which will underpin the next phase of work for the project.
As part of the University’s commitment to decolonising and diversifying the curriculum, the Inclusive Learning team (working closely with staff and student partners) have produced a set of reflective questions on decolonising and diversifying the curriculum.
This resource is designed to support staff to explore, discuss and reflect on ways in which they can approach decolonising and diversifying the curriculum as part of programme and module design.
The principles and understandings underpinning the reflective questions are set out in the University’s Statement of Approach to Decolonising and Diversifying the Curriculum.
