REF Strategy Group
REF Strategy Group reports to University Research Committee (URC) and University Executive Board (UEB).
Terms of reference
-
To advise the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research on recommendations and proposed strategy in relation to the development of the University of York REF 2029 submission.

To recommend to University Research Committee and University Executive Board the timetable and management processes for the REF 2029 submission.

To report to University Research Committee and University Executive Board on the preparedness of Departments [or Units of Assessment] in relation to REF 2029, particularly in relation to areas of concern and action required.

To agree the mechanisms and process via which the REF Operations Group will operate and to receive recommendations from the REF Operations Group on operational aspects of REF 2029.

To advise the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Research on issues relating to research areas and UoA submissions, especially in relation to UoA boundary issues.

To oversee the institutional level elements of the REF 2029 submission, including the Code of Practice and any institution-level statements.

To consider and make recommendations upon appropriate resourcing and support for REF 2029.

To provide a forum for discussion of confidential or commercially sensitive issues relating to REF 2029.

To ensure that the equality and diversity issues relating to REF 2029 are fully considered and addressed appropriately.
