HR Excellence in Research
In 2010, The University of York was one of the first UK Universities to obtain the HR Excellence in Research award, in recognition of the sustained commitment to the implementation of the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers.
We are proud to be currently one of only two UK universities to have held the HR Excellence in Research (HREiR) Award for 14 consecutive years. The HREiR Award is a recognition by the European Commission of our ongoing support for Researchers, including career support and implementation of the Researcher Development Concordat.
[We] were impressed by both the breadth of Concordat-related activities being undertaken at York and the opportunities being supported which allow their researchers to develop leadership and other professional skills such as the Research Staff Liaison Officer Roles and a significant number of research staff associations. We strongly recommend the evidence presented by University of York meets the requirements of the 8 year review process.
