Terms of Reference

Terms of Reference

The group will oversee the development of policies and processes across four key areas of partnership development, those of: relationship/partnership management ,resourcing, governance relating to partnerships, and impacts. Specifically:

1. Relationship Management

  • Overseeing and developing pipeline management processes, including underpinning CRM (in order to identify, cultivate, engage/ask/, steward and report to our partners).
  • Overseeing the classification and definition of partnerships
  • Establishing ‘relationship plans’ for key partners
  • Overseeing the development and delivery of management reports on all types of partnerships (pertaining to the definition of partners identified in point 7 of the Partnership and Enterprise Committee’s terms of reference)
  • Developing a system for key account management of institutional significant partnerships is achieved

2. Resourcing

  • Ensuring that appropriate ‘front doors’ into the university are provide to all key partners types
  • Ensuring standards of care are established for each type of key audience
  • Ensuring clarity is provided on the roles and responsibilities of staff of the University of York the different types of key partners 

3. Governance

  • Ensure appropriate policy and processes are in place to carry out due diligence on partners listed in point 7 of the P&E ToR and that adequate compliance with due diligence processes
  • Ensuring that approval processes are in place and fit for purpose for entering into a partnerships

4. Impacts and outcomes

  • Coordinating data and information on relevant KPIs to enable the monitoring of partnerships

Frequency and timing of Meetings

Meetings will be held every 4-6 weeks aligned to occur prior to the University Partnerships and Enterprise Committee and papers distributed one week before the meeting.

Governance / Quorum

Decisions to reschedule meetings due to unavailability of working group members or accept representatives will be at the discretion of the Chair. Critical business that occurs outside the scheduled meetings and needs an urgent decision will be dealt with by email and approved by chair’s action.
