Flexible building usage over the Easter weekend

Posted on 24 March 2025

Most buildings will be closed from Friday 18 April to Monday 21 April (inclusive), while several hubs will remain open for those needing to work on campus.

Following the success of last year’s building closures, we will again be closing specific buildings during Easter weekend 2025 as part of our efforts to reduce costs and lower our carbon footprint.

Buildings with significantly reduced occupancy during this period will either be fully closed or have restricted access. Previous closures have resulted in significant cost and carbon savings. While certain buildings will be closed, the campus will remain operational, with services and facilities still available.

Several hub buildings will remain open during the Easter weekend as alternative workspaces, including:

  • Berrick Saul (Arts and Humanities Hub)
  • Church Lane (Social Sciences Hub)
  • Harry Fairhurst
  • Ron Cooke Hub (Heslington East Hub)
  • Market Square
  • Providence House

For more information on flexible building usage, including whether your building is affected, how to access buildings with limited operations during the closures, and how to book a desk in one of the several hubs open for working on campus during this period, please visit the flexible building usage web page.
