We’ve added a host of guidance and resources to our change web pages.
They include easy-to-use templates to help guide your work through the five project phases that we use at York: concept, initiation and planning, delivery, handover and closure.
You can use the templates as they are or adapt them to your specific circumstances.
Cheryl Saggers, head of the new central Project Management Office, said: “Projects across the University vary widely in size and complexity. Each one is unique.
“That’s why we take a pragmatic approach to leading change. If filling in a form doesn’t add value, we don’t do it.
“By standardising templates and providing a single base for resources, we are giving colleagues the tools to stay on track.”
We have also set up a Slack channel, which will be an informal space to ask questions, get feedback, and find out which resources are available. Cheryl hopes to build a community where everyone involved in change can easily find the help they need.
She added: “Expertise in change is held in pockets across our University. My role is about building relationships, collaborating and sharing best practice with colleagues so we can make our work quicker, easier and more efficient.”
