As evenings grow darker, visibility on the roads is crucial. The Highway Code requires cyclists to have front and red rear lights at night, and failure to comply can result in an on-the-spot fine. Bikes must also have a red rear reflector and amber pedal reflectors.
The Travel and Transport team will distribute free high-visibility vests, bike lights, and slap wrap reflectors (while supplies last) on Thursday 21 November, 2024, at Field Lane crossroads (traffic lights near Heslington Church between Campus East and West) from 4pm to 6pm.
The University Bike Doctor will be available to answer questions about repair sessions on campus.
