The creation of the schools is a key part of our Change Programme, supporting our vision for York to be a University for public good. Along with Environmental Sustainability at York, it enables us to bring together our collective knowledge and expertise, to create fresh and distinctive new collaborative research and teaching opportunities.

By strengthening how we work together, we will also be able to maximise opportunities to generate income across units, create shared platforms for innovation and managing risk, and facilitate sustainable growth.

The schools will create a unique intellectual agenda at York - one that powerfully echoes the heritage of the City of York and the ethos of the University of York’s founders.

Thank you

We would like to thank everyone who has been involved in developing these new schools so far, which has required extraordinary vision, imagination and determination.

We look forward to finding more ways to mark and celebrate their creation over the coming weeks, so keep an eye out for opportunities to join us.
