Green Impact is an environmental accreditation programme which is run as part of the University's Carbon Management Plan. It's a national programme which rewards green habits in the workplace, and is run by the National Union of Students (NUS) on our behalf.
This year, Green Impact has helped towards a potential of 470 tonnes of CO2 savings and £155,562 in financial savings, through the actions of our 217 Green Impact Team members and 60 student auditors.
From increasing the temperature of freezers in the Department of Biology, to removing single-use plastic pots in horticultural research and assessing sustainable transport options for departmental staff, our staff and students have been working hard to improve sustainability across the University.
