The week will showcase the cultural diversity at the University through a series of events, open to all staff and students, organised by ISA.
The three main (chargeable) events are:
Cultural Performance Night, Sunday 28 January, 6.30pm to 10.00pm, Central Hall
This is Global Week 2018’s showcase event where the University’s international societies put on a series of performances choreographed for the event. Each spectator will vote for their favourite performance to be crowned the winner on the night. Tickets start from £5.50 and can be booked via the University of York Students’ Union (YUSU) website.
Beverage Festival, Wednesday 31 January, 7.00pm wave one, 9.00pm wave two, D/L/028
Try range of international alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks provided by YUSU societies and local charities. The alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks with the most votes will win the competition on the night. Tickets start from £8.50.
Food Fiesta, Saturday 3 February, 7.00pm wave one, 9.00pm wave two, Roger Kirk Centre
The Food Fiesta festival gives you the chance to try delicious dishes from across the world that have been prepared by a range of YUSU societies. Tickets start from £10.50. It is usually the most popular event of Global Week so book your ticket to avoid missing out.
You can also buy an “Around-the-world” ticket to attend all three of the above events.
Other free events will be running throughout the week including a bake sale and a cinema night. Further details can be found via the about Global Week 2018 Facebook page.
