As part of this year’s safety talks, Freshers were shown a video introducing them to their new University of York community. The video was developed as part of the University's sexual harrassment 'Respect' campaign. The first part of the video will now start to be shown during new staff inductions.
The video explains our community’s values of respect, fairness and compassion. It talks about diversity and inclusion. And it outlines our shared expectations of behaviour; how we treat one another and how we want to be treated.
All our students and staff should be able to live, learn, work and research in a peaceful and supportive environment.
Each member of the community has a responsibility to uphold these values and to challenge inappropriate behaviour.
You can view the video on the University’s YouTube channel.
