Biography

I joined the department in October 2023 under the supervision of Dr James Cummings and Dr Darren Reed. My research theme is the Identity construction of lesbians on social media in Jiangsu Province of China. I am particularly interested in the current situation of the lives of sexual minorities in rural China. I am committed to raising awareness of gender diversity and providing support for the promotion of gender equality and social justice in China.

I have a Master's degree in Media Practice from the University of Sydney and specialise in magazine production, video, podcast editing and news writing. I have a research interest in people's self-presentation on social media platforms, and through my research, I hope to explore how social media influences and shapes individual and group identities.
