Kun is currently working as an associate lecturer in the sociology department. She has finished her first degree in sociology in 2015, before completing her masters degree and graduating in 2017. Afterwards she studied for her PhD which was partly funded by the University of York and graduated in 2021. Kun is interested in research areas of ageing study, intimate relationships and family relationships. Her PhD research focused on love, marriage and intimate relationships of later life.

Kun has previously taught different undergraduate modules such as cultivating a sociology imagination and introduction to social theory since 2017. She is currently teaching on the modules:
