Up to £20,000 is available for each funded project; historically, submitted proposals have had a decent hit rate (just seven proposals were submitted for the last round, for up to three small grants). Particular interest has been expressed in proposals related to the following themes:
Proposals have to include one partner from an N8 academic institution and one policing partner from the 11 participating Northern forces. However, wider collaborations are also welcomed. Funding is available for one year, beginning in October 2020. Proposals have to be submitted by 5pm on 17 August.
If you might have an interest in submitting a bid, Dr Geoff Page (geoff.page@york.ac.uk) would be more than happy to discuss what the partnership is looking for and what has worked in the past. He may also be able to help in identifying or linking to police partners in Northern forces.
Full details of the small grants can be found on the N8 Policing Research Programme website.
