Making Sense of Voice Hearing

The aim of the conference is to provide opportunities to think about how we make sense of voice hearing, reflect on therapeutic practices and provide a platform for exploring approaches that assist voice hearers to live well with their voices.

It is open to voice hearers and their families/carers, practitioners, researchers and students from both the Department of Health Sciences and Department of Social Policy and Social Work.

There will be a particular critical focus on the following themes:

  • Understanding voice hearing and the relationships between voice hearers and their voices.
  • The extent to which voice hearers have agency with their voices.
  • The use of creative practices to express emotions related to voice hearing.
  • Effective collaboration between voice hearers, practitioners and researchers.
