Sudanese lawyer and human rights defender Arwa Elrabie discusses the current human rights situation in Sudan, and how the increasing legal restrictions impact on the space where civil society organisations are able to work. What are the future hopes for human rights organisations working in Sudan?

Arwa is currently undertaking a 6-month fellowship with the Centre for Applied Human Rights (University of York) under the auspices of the Protective Fellowship Scheme for Human Rights Defenders at Risk.
