Small Innovation Projects (SIPs) are a new scheme designed to help academics and small businesses in Yorkshire & the Humber to collaborate. The scheme provides up to £7,500 for the company to spend on innovation projects of up to 3 months in duration, using expertise from within the University.
Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) enable organisations and University Departments to engage in long term research collaborations by embedding University expertise within the organisation. The joint-funded projects provide a graduate student to work within the company for 6 months to 3 years generating strong research links and research impact and employability and professional development opportunities for the student, while enabling the company to benefit from additional expertise.
The University of York has a strong portfolio of KTPs and has just released further funding for departments to start small-scale innovation projects (SIPs) which may lead to larger research partnerships.
To find out more about the opportunities for your department or research group please feel free to attend this lunchtime information session.
