I've worked in Primark, Boots, Natwest, a Nissan dealership and now finally a law firm
What has helped my career to progress
I think having a lot of weekend jobs gave me a lot of skills other people didn't have. I'm so glad I always worked alongside my studies.

How my studies have helped my career
I needed my degree for the job I have. I'm currently going through the firm's training contract applications and I'm hoping that I can speak about the unique way that law is taught at the University of York. I'm hoping this will make me stand out from everyone else.
What surprised me about my career so far
I was surprised by the variety of work I got to do as soon as I joined Plexus Law

My advice to students considering work
Take copies of your CV to law fairs and research the firms that are going to be there before you attend the fair
My advice about working in my industry
Be prepared to work hard and make sure you actually read the emails that are sent to everyone where you work
Other advice
Try and get a weekend job. I really think it helped me to get a job after university
