A day in the life of a Senior Commercial Development Analyst in the United Kingdom
I work for one of the big 6 energy suppliers
My advice about working in my industry
There are so many hidden areas of the energy industry that if you're interested in working in it, I'd recommend finding any relevant job to get your foot in the door.
What I do
I work for the Corporates area of E.ON, which supplies gas and electricity to large energy users in the UK. Large customers have complex energy needs and required sophisticated propositions to help them manage their costs and successfully execute their purchasing strategies. My job is to lead the development and delivery of our energy supply propositions to support our customers and differentiate us from the competition.
Skills I use and how I developed them
I still use my mathematical skills to develop proposition models and work with the Risk team to analyse the risk attached to the products. However, my role now contains a lot more stakeholder skills (working with other people) and researching energy regulation.
What I like most
I like that my role has a solid link to helping customers
