A day in the life of a Film and art consulting intern in the United States
My advice to students considering work
Try and find out as much as possible about what you will be doing day to day, if this sounds like something achievable, challenging and engaging, only then is it worth considering.
What I do
During this internship I went through training for running a small-scale film production company, distribution, learnt about effective business marketing across a range of platforms as well as good practice and ethics in the business environment.
Skills I use and how I developed them
Communication and self-confidence were definitely the main skills I developed during this internship. Learning how to stand up for yourself and your own ideas are essential to not only learning from your mistakes, but not allowing others to exploit you.
What I like most
Moving to a new continent completely on your own is a pretty daunting experience, but getting through it and proving to yourself is totally worth it. What's more, New York is a great place to experience such diverse culture.
