A day in the life of a Founder and CEO in Bangladesh

CEO happy to mentor those interested in the games industry and entrepreneurship in general

My career goals when I graduated

I wanted to be in a profession where I can make an impact and get to travel a lot.

My career history

Started as a Management Consultant. Now CEO of a Game Studio

What has helped my career to progress

Reading! I try to read at least 50 pages a day.

Courses taken since graduation

Many courses in Data Science, Digital Marketing, Agile Project Management (I am a Certified Scrum Master), Game Design and basic programming

How my studies have helped my career

Economics helped me to think from different perspectives. It also helped me to develop a logical frame of mind.

What surprised me about my career so far

Importance of communication skills!

Where I hope to be in 5 years

I hope to have created a Game Industry in Bangladesh.

My advice to students considering work

Whichever subject you are in or whatever industry you want to get into, it doesn't matter. Please try to be as computer literate as possible. Communication skills, willingness to learn new things, focus and strong work ethics will make you successful.

My advice about working in my industry

A Game is all about providing great user experience. You have to focus a lot on your players. You have to be very detail oriented. And you should be a gamer first.

Contacting me

Game Industry and entrepreneurship in general.

What I do

I define our studio's vision and culture. I oversee and mentor other CXO's. And I particularly look after our investment efforts, marketing and high level game design aspects.

How I started my business

I started my career in 2010 as an unpaid intern. In 2012, I started as a management consultant. Mid 2013, I started my own software development firm. In 2015, I finally followed my dream and started a game studio. Have been developing games ever since.

Two years later, now we have an awesome team of 28, 5 Million+ downloads, 5 Apple features and 300,000 Monthly Active users.

What inspired me

We are the first generation, that grew up playing video games. And the ability to make a game, that will be played by millions of players, the feeling is just unreal!

Skills I use and how I developed them

Communication Skills: The only way to develop them is to practice. Get out of your comfort zone. Make a habit of meeting new people every day. Try to sell your vision to new and old friends. Read a lot, discuss a lot. Always think what others are thinking and try to be a step ahead.

Agility: Never be afraid of new things. In this changing world- you need the skill to learn new skill asap. Spend a lot of your time on self-development.

What I like most

Every day is a new challenge. We are not only developing a Game Studio rather we are developing an industry in Bangladesh. And it feels awesome when we see others playing our games.

What I like least

As the CEO I have to attend a lot of formal meetings, do some Administrative / Legal works.

What surprised me most

As a CEO, you always have to pitch, you always have to sell!
