Courses taken since graduation

My advice to students considering work

Be plucky and show that you are willing to work really hard.

What I do

I'm a Senior Producer for CNN in Hong Kong. That means I write, commission and edit features from the Asia region for CNN.com. Previously, I was a feature writer and editor at the South China Morning Post, and on the Daily Mail's copy editing graduate scheme.

Skills I use and how I developed them

I was the Music Editor for Nouse while I studied at York. I interned at the York Evening Press.

What I like most

Every day is different. I get to be creative, use my writing skills, meet lots of interesting people and ask them difficult questions.

What I like least

Journalism is a hard industry to break into, and it can be low-paid at the beginning. You have to really want to do it.

What surprised me most

The pay does get better!
