After a few years in publishing, I realised that my love of language and slightly pedantic nature could be used in a legal setting.
Is your current job sector different from what you thought you would enter when you graduated?
I didn't really know what I wanted to do when I graduated.
Describe your most memorable day at work
Chasing a client through one of the world's largest yachts sticks in the mind.
Are there any challenges associated with your job?
Some clients need legal assistance at times when they have limited funds to pay for the advice.
What’s your work environment and culture like?
Happily multi-cultural.
What extracurricular activities did you undertake at university and what transferable skills did you develop through these?
My time in the gliding club taught me to fly by the skin of my pants and introduced me to the fine art of occasionally winging it.
What top tips do you have for York students preparing for today’s job market and life after graduation?
Not to worry if you don't have a clear idea what you want to do just yet. There is plenty of time ahead.
