Briefly describe the organisation you work for
I am a mum of two small boys, so am working for myself as a freelance copywriter.
What do you do?
I write all types of online content, from SEO to blog posts and product descriptions. I also sometimes get to write fiction.
Reflecting upon your past employment and education, what led you to your current career choice?
My degree and my creative interests led me to my current career
Is your current job sector different from what you thought you would enter when you graduated?
No, it is the same pretty much!
Describe your most memorable day at work
I love working for myself, every day is different and varied.
Are there any challenges associated with your job?
It can be hard to find clients and being self employed requires a lot of organisation and motivation.
What’s your work environment and culture like?
Working for myself is lonely but I sometimes miss the comeradery of an office.
What extracurricular activities did you undertake at university and what transferable skills did you develop through these?
I did a lot of drama primarily, and I still sometimes work as an actress now along with writing
