I'm researching a carbon footprint from agricultural activities in the EU

I'm currently developing my career in academia
Is your current job sector different from what you thought you would enter when you graduated?
Nope, it is one of the common paths if you're entering academia, begin with postdoctoral research and then you can apply fellowship and teaching at the university.
Describe your most memorable day at work
Covid-19 and work from home! Never thought when I came back to the UK
Are there any challenges associated with your job?
Yes, the lack of data availability. This is the struggle that I faced since my PhD studies.
What’s your work environment and culture like?
It’s an international community and multi racial and cultural diversity.
What extracurricular activities did you undertake at university and what transferable skills did you develop through these?
I did volunteering at school (York student in schools), also joined the netball team for the uni league
What would you like to do next with your career?
I’m looking forward to enhance my teaching skills
What top tips do you have for York students preparing for today’s job market and life after graduation?
You can start hunting a job while waiting for your graduation or if you are doing postgraduate research, such as PhD, you can start applying for a job while waiting for your viva.
