Arma Partners is a technology-focused investment bank that provides independent corporate finance advice to companies and investors active in the global digital economy.
What do you do?
I'm an intern.
Reflecting upon your past employment and education, what led you to your current career choice?
I was always fascinated about Finance, and after finishing my degree at York I had the chance to join a high-growth startup in their Finance and Strategy team. This gave me the opportunity to have exposure to investors and investment banks, which later on led me to pursue a Master's in Finance with the goal of breaking into the Investment Banking industry.
Is your current job sector different from what you thought you would enter when you graduated?

What extracurricular activities did you undertake at university and what transferable skills did you develop through these?
I didn't follow the most common path of joining clubs, and instead joined a startup straight away. This was super helpful in developing my multi-tasking skills since I effectively both work and studied full-time.
What top tips do you have for York students preparing for today’s job market and life after graduation?
Try different things and do a lot of research on what you really want to do. Networking and talking to people in the industry is key, since that's the best way to understand what the job truly entails.
