International Market research agency

What do you do?

Manage research projects, including client management, designing qualitative and quantitative research methodology, analysing findings, writing and presenting reports,. Business development including writing proposals and pitching for work

Reflecting upon your past employment and education, what led you to your current career choice?

Background in history of art and art gallery and museum studies, employed by an agency that specialised in research for arts venues and then moved to an different agency

Yes

Describe your most memorable day at work

Presenting findings from my research at Lincoln centre I'm New York

Are there any challenges associated with your job?

Difficulties with managing clients and meeting desdlines

What’s your work environment and culture like?

Relaxed - hierarchies tend to be flat, office culture is casual

What extracurricular activities did you undertake at university and what transferable skills did you develop through these?

Working with art history society to arrange events

What would you like to do next with your career?

Move back into the arts and take on a more account management based role

What top tips do you have for York students preparing for today’s job market and life after graduation?

Always make an effort to speak to at least one person at an event, think outside the box in terms of how your career can develop, don't be afraid to take a sideways step to gain more or different experience, don't get too comfortable in one place or your skills will stop becoming transferable
