A day in the life of a Project Coordinator in Denmark
Don't rush into a job you don't want unless it is absolutely necessary. You will get there - be patient.
Briefly describe the organisation you work for
I work for AirLiquide - a large gas company with around 80.000 employees world wide.
What do you do?
I coordinate new projects and people and work with continuous improvement.
Reflecting upon your past employment and education, what led you to your current career choice?
Specially my courses in strategy, sustainability and management led me to pursue a career within project work. I really enjoy working in cross functional teams where I can use a lot of the skills I learned from studying at York.
Is your current job sector different from what you thought you would enter when you graduated?
Yes, I thought I would end up in something like Bio-Tech.
Describe your most memorable day at work
I had created a new document and my team trusted my skills. Sent it to the management team without anyone looking at it and got really good feedback.
What extracurricular activities did you undertake at university and what transferable skills did you develop through these?
I played handball and volunteered as student rep and scout leader in my spare time.
What top tips do you have for York students preparing for today’s job market and life after graduation?
Don't rush into a job you don't want unless it is absolutely necessary. You will get there - be patient.
