A day in the life of a Personal Assistant in the United Kingdom

Where I hope to be in 5 years
I want to develop team management skills and project management experience.
My advice to students considering work
Starting of by temping is a really good way of both getting experience which all employers look for) and figuring out what sort of work you enjoy or don't enjoy.
What I do
Diary management, project coordination, proof-reading/ type-setting docs, overseeing budget, general admin (processing data, filing, etc), minuting meetings, oversee work of small office-based team.
Skills I use and how I developed them
6 months temping as an admin assistant.
Degree skills:
Research, critical thinking, public speaking, independant learning.
Extracurricular skills:
IT skills, inter-personal, management (people and projects), multi-tasking.
What I like most
The variety and interaction with many different people. I also gain satisfaction from completing jobs, developing projects and juggling priorities efficiently.
What I like least
The lack of hands-on creativity (my history of Art degree doesn't feature much!). Job is occasionally stressful or dull but that varies week to week.
