Courses taken since graduation

Where I hope to be in 5 years
I don't really have any because I work for a new organisation which is developing very fast.
My advice to students considering work
Try to stay in touch with the real world - use as many opportunities as you can.
What I do
I'm leader of a small team which works to support voluntary organisations. We help them apply for funding, we help to set up new groups, we help with paperwork, we advise on becoming registered charities and we liaise with colleagues who run our volunteer centres.
Skills I use and how I developed them
My previous job was directly linked to this one.
Degree skills:
Hard to say because it's so long since I was an undergraduate, but perhaps research skills, and writing skills. Also organisational skills, time management.
Extracurricular skills:
Presentational skills - developed through teaching.
Organisational skills - gained everywhere.
What I like most
Meeting people who are involved in all sorts of interesting activities or providing valuable services for the general good.
What I like least
Jargon, officials, and the fact that sometimes we can't find funding for groups who clearly deserve support.
