A day in the life of a Business Analyst in Bahrain
My career history
After completing my degree from the York Management School in 2009, I joined the London School of Economics and Political Science to obtain a postgraduate degree in MSc, Law and Accounting. Fortunately, in 2010 I gained my degree and joined BDO Consulting-Bahrain as a Business Analyst. As an Analyst, my job was concerned with drafting feasibility studies, engaging in strategic review and due diligence required by clients, preparing business valuations/financial modelling and initiating proposals, teasers and tender applications.

My advice to students considering work
Protect your dreams, they are yours!! Always capture any opportunities arising locally or globally which "satisfy your interests" and be aware that the market is competitive.
What I do
As a Senior Project Officer, I am coordinating a public fund project which is being managed by my organization. My job is mainly engaged with monitoring and ensuring up-to-date information of the project, deploying and updating the project’s policies and procedures, assisting beneficiaries in the allocation of their received fund and ensuring timely payments. Preparing monthly reports on the status of the project which involves scenario planning and analysis of historical payments is also part of my job. Additionally, I am responsible for supporting and assisting the Fund Management front office team and liaising with various stakeholders regarding operational matters.
Skills I use and how I developed them
The diversified modules and areas covered certainly were factors in obtaining a job as a Business Analyst and then getting the opportunity to work on a project as a Senior Project Officer within the same organization.
Extracurricular skills:
Summer internships obtained in the Retail Banking and Audit sectors have helped me eliminate any doubts regarding my career path.
What I like most
I enjoy the variety of the tasks involved and contributing to a project which concerns the public interest.
