My advice to students considering work

- When interviewing, have a convincing answer for why it is you want to do that particular job
- Have a very long think about what you're good at, what you enjoy doing and whether you'd like to do a particular job all day, every day

What I do

Desk primarily structures and transacts bespoke interest rate and FX hedging solutions for shipping clients.

Main tasks include analysing clients' debt profiles and future FX commitments in order to provide relevant advice and hedging products.

Working on one of the few multi-asset desks in the bank, a large part of the role involves being aware of and being able to provide succinct and immediate updates, digesting world events for our corporate clients across several asset classes.

With upcoming changes to regulations in bank funding and capital requirements, being able to understand the impact of new and existing trades on the bank's RWA requirements is becoming of ever increasing importance.

Given the heavy presence of Greek companies in Shipping I speak to clients in both Greek and English on a daily basis.

Extra curricular activities at work include involvement in HR's recruitment campaigns as well organising sporting events.
