What I do
I'm an economic consulting analyst. Our experts get retained by law firms representing litigation cases to provide expert opinion on issues such as market definition, liability, and damages assessment, etc.. I provide analytical support to such experts.
Skills I use and how I developed them
Technical: Excel (Training the Street); Stata (School); SAS (Work)
Academic: Industrial Organization; Accounting; Econometrics
Soft: Communication; Organization (of files etc., from work) and Presentation
What I like most
Some of the analyses are very interesting and intellectually stimulating, all my colleagues are extremely supportive, and the culture is academic and laid back.
What I like least
Hours could be long sometimes.
What surprised me most
The projects can run very long, sometimes for years.
