I studied the LPC at the York College of Law before it closed and moved to Leeds, achieving a commendation.
What I do
I work as a paralegal for a multinational firm specialising in insurance. Having worked here for 2 years, I have gained a lot of experience in my field and am regarded as a senior member of staff.
What surprised me most
There are mundane parts of the job that you expect - there is photocopying and the like that needs to be done - but the level of responsibility surprised me. I am responsible for several hundred clients and am trusted to deal with complex matters on my own with support as and when necessary.
