My career goals when I graduated
To work in a job that involved the direct use of psychology.

Programme officer in the probation service and moved to the NHS as a psychological wellbeing practitioner and then clinical training
What has helped my career to progress
A supportive mentor in senior staff, my family and working on areas that challenged me and put me outside of what I felt comfortable.

My MSc gave me applied knowledge and the Clinical Doctorate gave me the skills to practice as a Clinical Psychologist.

In a more senior role, to be actively involved in research and more actively engaged in service design and improvement.
My advice to students considering work
Be clear about why you want the job and what you hope to learn. Show you can reflect on your experience and highlight the importance of transferable skills.
Other advice
Stick with it, seek feedback listen to it and use it develop and improve. This never stops always be open to new learning.
